Enlightenment is an early access twin stick action shooter. Players fight through procedurally generated levels collecting weapons while unlocking the secrets of the mysterious Ark.
Restore the world
Enlightenment takes place in a post-apocalyptic world which has given birth to the Ark, a world of powerful mutations and monstrous freaks. While everyone that has ventured inside is now either dead or insane, your character feels confident that they will be the exception. The game plays in a fairly straightforward twin stick/top down fashion. Enemies are fast and dangerous, weapons are plentiful and the inevitable deaths have varying penalties based on difficulty choice. NPCs are dotted around to give a little background on the strange world and helpful items, but the plot takes a back-seat to the intense action. Enlightenment is currently in a fairly well-developed state and is completely playable but it is clear that a large amount of work needs to be done. Fans of the genre may well be drawn by the backdrop and setting but as an early access title, there is still an element of risk.
Enlightenment is a well done example of the popular rouge-lite action genre. The world and action are highly commendable but a lack of length and content is a concern.
